KNOW BEFORE YOU GO / OTHER NEARBY THINGS TO DO:

The Peter Strauss Ranch park is a beautiful place to walk*, hike, or picnic. The Peter Strauss loop is a .6 mile novice hike up and around a sloping hillside, through chaparral and oak riparian.

Picnic tables are available throughout the park - some are located in the meadows near the Malibu Creek, others under oak canopies near the lawn of the abandoned pool.

Peter Strauss Ranch is a National Parks Site within the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, and performance attendees will be guided through the empty pool's irregular surface.  Non-slip, closed-toe foot wear is suggested for attending the performance.

OTHER GOOD STUFF:

The Old Place is a charming, colorfully historic, and rustic restaurant located directly across the street from the parking lot at Peter Strauss Ranch. Reservations recommended.

Cornell Winery & Tasting Room is right next door to The Old Place. And, right next store to there, is

Charme d'Antan - a rambling spot selling antique, country, and architectural indoor & outdoor furniture.

Around the corner, .7 miles away from Peter Strauss Ranch, you'll find the Rustic Canyon General Store & Grill /Kristy's Roadside Grill, which has a small, shaded sitting area outside and offers a counter-service grill. (We have been living off of their rotisserie-chicken tacos, alongside a cold draft beer, while installing LAKE ENCHANTO!)

Next door to the grill is SIP wine bar serving local Malibu wines.

NIGHT SKY TOUR

Following the LAKE  ENCHANTO performance, National Park Service Ranger Anthony Bevilacqua willlead a short talk on the Night Sky, the Cosmos, and our collective connectionto the stars.

Ranger Bevilacqua looks to find ways to connect people with their ancient beginnings, when every night, everybody on earth looked up to see a brilliant show in the sky.

*The Peter Strauss Ranch is not accessible: the parking lot and trails are unpaved and do not meet ADA requirements. If you have questions about accessibility please use the contact form and we will do our best to provide answers and/or help out with any special accommodations.
